Non-Emergency ambulance response

“ProMedical Ambulance” routinely provides 24-hour Australian standard intensive and advanced life support pre-hospital emergency care services on the islands of Efate and Espiritu Santo.

First Aid Courses

CPR + defibrillation

4 Hour Course
Cost:  VT 5000 pp

Hands on CPR & AED Familiarisation
This course provides the skills to recognize and then manage a casualty who is unconscious and is not breathing. CPR is a lifesaving technique which can sustain life until an ambulance arrives.

It is recommended that CPR skills are re-certified every 12 months.

GSBF0112 Apply Basic First Aid

1 Day course
Cost:  VT 7,600 pp (Educational booklet & Certificate)
Course times: 8am – 5pm
Language: English, Bislama or French
Venue:  ProMedical station Freshwota (Port Vila) and Luganville (Santo) or at your organisation’s premises.
Course outcomes:  This unit specifies the outcomes required to recognize and respond to an emergency using basic life support measures.  The application of skills and knowledge in an emergency in the workplace or home environment. Assessing the situation, applying basic first aid techniques and communicating details of the incident.

A nationally recognised certificate of attainment will be awarded to successful participants.

Course Content includes:

  • Basic life support – DRSABCD
  • Assessing the situation
  • Infection control
  • Performing CPR
  • Care of the unconscious person
  • Legal considerations
  • Allergic reaction/Anaphylaxis
  • Bleeding control & amputation, Shock
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Choking and airway obstruction
  • Respiratory distress, including Asthma
  • Facial injuries (Eye, nose, ear)
  • Envenomation/poisoning (bites & stings)
  • Recording and reporting

GSFA0212 Apply First Aid

1 ½ day course
Cost: VT 10,600pp (educational booklet and certificate)
Course times: 8am – 5pm
Language: English, Bislama or French
Venue:  ProMedical station Freshwota (Port Vila) and Luganville (Santo) or at your organisation’s premises.
Course Outcome:  Skills and knowledge required for the provision of essential first aid in recognizing and responding to an emergency using life support measures. Being able to provide an initial response.

A nationally recognised certificate of attainment will be awarded to successful participants

Accidents and illnesses can happen anywhere and at any time such as, in the workplace, resorts, in homes and public spaces etc. The more First Aid certified people there are in a community the safer that community becomes. It enables you to assist persons who become injured in the event of an accident or emergency situation until ProMedical paramedic staff arrive.

ProMedical provides nationally recognised accredited ( 1 ½ Day ) “Provide Basic Emergency Life Support First Aid” course that will benefit those at work, at home and in the community.

The course provides an excellent foundation in first aid and will empower you with the skills and confidence to perform appropriate first aid procedures and basic life support.

This unit satisfies training requirements across a range of community and workplace settings, meeting both the Australian and Vanuatu requirements of HLTAID002 and GSFA0212.

First Aid Kits

ProMedical offers a range of best practice first aid kits, first aid consumables and signage to meet different requirements and situations.

All ProMedical first aid kit items meet Australian and Vanuatu standards and requirements. ProMedical can recommend the type of equipment and signage that your community group or organisation needs and can also provide ongoing first aid products to keep your kits up-to-date.

In addition, ProMedical also provide a wide range of first aid kits for specific purposes (e.g. outdoor, 4WD) and workplaces (to meet the Vanuatu Department of Tourism requirements).

ProMedical has a select range of first aid kits that caters to the tourism, hospitality, industrial, educational and home sectors. They are on display at the ProMedical office in Freshwota.

ProMedical also provides first aid kit re-stocking services. Simply bring your kit in to our office and we will re-stock your kit with the required content.

Event First Aid Services

ProMedical Event first Aid Services are the leading provider of best practice First Aid for events in Vanuatu.

ProMedical first aid coverage ensures the safety of your party/event attendees and that all First Aid needs are taken care of.

ProMedical can provide a free risk assessment which will identify any potential risks prior to the event and the solutions to resolve or minimise them.

ProMedical First Aid posts are fully equipped and First Aid response teams can circulate amongst the crowd. With transport resources that include 4WD stretcher capable vehicles and sedans, ProMedical provides capability for managing events or festivals of any size.

ProMedical can provide first aid coverage for any event such as parties, film shoots, adventure-exploration trips, study tours, sporting events, public events etc.

Deceased Repatriation

Repatriation is the process of returning the deceased back to their country of origin.  ProMedical can assist you with all of the necessary steps involved in processing the repatriation of a loved one to and from almost any country.

The death of a loved one overseas can be made all the more stressful by the complications involved in the arrangement of their return home.  We can help by dealing with all relevant authorities and acquiring any permits and travel documents required to bring them home.  Some of the services we provide for repatriation are:

  • Preparation of the deceased in accordance with local (and country of origin) requirements
  • Arrangement of burial and memorial in the country where death occurred
  • Organisation of all permits, clearances, documentation, transfer to the airport and flights for the deceased
  • Provision of a coffin suitable for the transportation of the deceased
  • Organising the return of all luggage and personal effects
  • Co-ordination with all relevant parties & government departments
